Balearic Yacht Destination, the 360º nautical promotion project promoted by four of the big companies in the Balearic’s sector, was present in the last boat show at Ft. Lauderdale.

The main objective of its presence at the largest international boat show was to promote the Balearic Islands as part of the charter circuit in the American market, as it has grown considerably in recent years.

Representatives of this extraordinary project, traveled to Florida to introduce the advantages of choosing a sailing and refit destination such as Mallorca and Ibiza, and at the same time, participate in one of the most outstanding events.

Balearic Yacht Destination sponsored the party organized by Fraser Yachts at its booth, which for second consecutive year held the Captain of the Year award. This recognition, created last year, evaluates such important aspects as precision and punctuality in accounting and cost control, crew management and safety culture on board, respect for planned onboard maintenance, as well as the degree of satisfaction of the Owner of the boat and its guests among other criteria. After a vote among the charter company's own workers, this time the award was given to Captain Wayne Williams, who received it with great emotion and addressed some nice words to the attendants who gave rise to an intimate evening with a relaxed atmosphere.

On behalf of the Balearic Yacht Destination, Captain Williams received three days of free mooring at Marina Ibiza and Port Adriano and a dinner for two at one of the best Michelin starred restaurants in the Balearic Islands offered by STP Shipyard Palma and Astilleros de Mallorca

The awards ceremony, hosted by Raphael Sauleau, CEO of Fraser Yachts, and Mike Busaca, Director of Operations and Commercial Director for the US, was followed by a party where attendees enjoyed live music, appetizers and cocktails with stunning craft from background.

In recent years, Mallorca and Ibiza are consolidating as two of the main nautical destinations in the world, offering the perfect combination between enjoyment and maintenance of boats, in a comprehensive way that nowhere else in the world can be found.

The nautical facilities, as well as the industrial and professional ones that operate in the islands, have made Mallorca and Ibiza have become the obligatory stop of superyachts that for some years until today have changed the tourist panorama of the nautical sector of the islands.
