Last week the boat that Marina Ibiza will sponsor during the Copa del Rey Regatta, was presented. ‘El Gaitero’, a beautiful sailboat of 11 meters in length and a striking red hull, will participate in the ORC3 class of the regatta and will be crewed by 7 members between 16 and 40 years old who will compete with another 26 boats in their class, from 8 countries.

The boat, which represents the Nautical Club of Ibiza -who maintain a close relationship with Marina Ibiza-, will be crewed by Iván Moreno, skipper, Marc Terrasa, trimmer and tactician, Marc Guasch, headsail trimmer, Jordi García, spinnaker trimmer , Juan Guasch, pitman, Tomás Casariego,  mast man and Rafael Reyes on the bow.

‘El Gaitero’ left Varadero Ibiza after its set-up to perform the presentation which was made in two nearby events. One , the press room of the Nautical Club of Ibiza. The other, the terrace of Calma Restaurant in Marina Ibiza, where a cocktail was served for the crew, the Nautical Club team, press, collaborators and friends.

From now on, Marina Ibiza will assist in the training of the team supporting them until the date of the competition.  The marina wishes them all the encouragement and energy to get first position.

Copa del Rey Regatta, is known as one of the most important in the Mediterranean and will be held in Palma from July 28th to August 4th with various social activities  interspersed within the regatta.

This thirty-second edition promises to break a new record in number of boats, with 154 registrations from 29 nationalities.

Marina Ibiza will be watching the results of ‘El Gaitero’ closely in this regatta which promises to be a great competition.
