Marina Port de Mallorca and Marina Palma Cuarentena launch a new environmental campaign

For years, the marinas of the IPM Group have promoted different initiatives aimed at raising awareness among their employees as well as customers and collaborators of the importance of caring for the environment. Proof of this are the different elements that by taking a walk throuh the facilities, offer active messages that promote it.

From programmes of activities aimed at children and adults for the dissemination of good practices, via posters on the saving of energy resources and wáter, through to informaiton on how to anchor. Also advising the yachts who visit each season of the Blue Flag awards. Both marinas contain motivatinal messages and instructions on how to care for the environment. All with the intention of contributing each time a little more in the preservation of the natural environment of the Balearic Islands, which is a beautifull cruising ground which attracts more and more yachts each year.

They also have a complete promotion programme on their websites and social networks as well as merchandising elements that encourage customers to recycle, avoid water pollution and instruct on the dangers of throwing plastics into the sea. To encourage participation, the marinas provide free recycling bags which customers can freely take from the information panels installed near the reception. In this way they can make recycling onboard easier. Another example is that the marinas invite their customers to rent electric bicycles instead of using vehicles thus avoiding the contamination of the atmosphere.

The initiative of this season is the installation of informative panels with rotating messages that until the end of the year will urge clients to practice measures aimed at caring for the sea, turtles, posidonia, natural resources and which coves to anchor in.

Both marinas have the Blue Flag, a certificate that values the care of their waters and the means to reduce the negative impact on the ecosystem, EMAS, ISO 14001 and are registered in the Carbon Footprint Registry which  guarantees the control of carbon emissions.
