Having seen the catastrophe that the city of Valencia is suffering due to the extreme flooding over the past few days, Marina Port Valencia instantly decided to help victims and set off with bilge pumps to work alongside all the thousands of volunteers who have spontaneously taken to the streets to save as many lives as possible.  

Numerous companies and thousands of individuals have done their all to meet the needs of the most vulnerable people at this time. After the first day removing mud and items that were hindering the search for survivors, other yachting facilities such as Valencia Mar and the yacht clubs of Calpe, Jávea, Benidorm and Villajoyosa joined forces with the IPM volunteers, forming an excellent team to provide as much emergency help as possible.  

In addition to this rescue campaign, Marina Port Valencia has announced to its customers, partners and friends that it is collecting clothing, food and basic needs at its offices, carrying out a charity drive that is already bearing fruit. People are being asked to donate blankets, warm clothing, footwear, water, milk, hygiene products, cleaning materials, and non-perishable or tinned food, as there are still homes without electricity or functioning kitchens.  

Anyone interested in contributing items can leave them at the Marina Norte offices between Monday and Friday. The Marina will then every week send all donations to the hundreds of people afflicted by the tragedy.

IPM facilities in Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca and Tarragona have also joined this initiative. 

At this harrowing time and given the sheer magnitude of the disaster, the city is turning to charity donations for the neediest, which is why Marina Port Valencia has wanted to work alongside citizens to urgently help all the victims who have been left with nothing. 

Santiago Donat, Director of Marina Port Valencia, said "your soul breaks when you see a catastrophe of this size and the only thing you can do is help the survivors. We want to show our solidarity and support at these delicate moments and we'll do anything that can help, whether it's cleaning up a road, draining water from a garage, or giving food and water to fellow citizens who haven't eaten or drunk for days on end. Any help is welcome".
