For some weeks STP Shipyard Palma has seen parading through its facilities several racing boats, with the common goal of getting ready, repairing and performing maintenance, to give the best of themselves in various high level competitions that were celebrated in recent days.

Rambler, Platoon, Provezza, Bella Mente, Jethou, Momo, Sorcha, Argo, Malizia, Azzurra, Real Team, Ran, Orange Racing and Quantum, are some high competition yachts that have been seen in Palma Vela, Superyacht Cup, at the TP52 Superseries Sailing Week and at Copa del Rey last week after visiting STP Shipyard Palma. Some of them even moore at the shipyard during those days to perform some last minute adjustments in between races.

Engaging high level competitions involves more frequent maintenance and greater amount of repairs in relation to vessels not involved in this type of competition, as they are subject to wear of the toughest conditions of wind, salt and sun. The most common repairs include sails, ropes, rigging, masts, but also paint, varnish and antifouling.

As a new, STP Shipyard Palma received all GC32 boats that premiered in Palma with Copa del Rey and caused sensation at the sea. During those days, Argo, Armin Strom Sailing Team, Gunvor Sailing, Malizia, Mamma Aiuto, Norauto, Orange Racing, Real Team, Team Engie and Team Tilt performed some works in the yard prior to the competition. Their next stop is in Sotogrande, where the following event of the GC32 Racing Tour will be held, and is currently lead by Norauto.

S/Y MOMO from Maxi 72 category also participated in the Copa del Rey and performed several works during the month of July, since as indicated by its Project Manager Bernhard Plachy, " when coming from overseas there is always a lot of repair work to be done". After getting the 3rd place in this competition, its 20 members of the crew will finish the season with the Maxi Worlds Sardinia.

Meanwhile, Captain of the laureate Quantum, Brendan Darrer said that "since we have been here in STP this Summer we have done a number of jobs including work to our mast, foils and systems as well as the normal maintaince work". The winner of the last competition of TP52 Superseries held in Majorcan waters, plans also to participate in the next competition in Menorca, and finish the world championship in Cascais (Portugal).

STP Shipyard Palma is usually chosen by a large number of sailing vessels, not only for the comfortable facilities that STP provides and its qualified staff, but also for the backround Mallorca offers and the quality of the companies specialized in this type of boat, surveyed to work in STP. In this sense, Darrer from Quantum commented that "we decided to base ourselves out of STP as it is the best yard and we have access to some great suppliers here in Palma. Nothing is ever a problem for the STP Team". While Plachy emphasized "we appreciate the friendly service of these facilities”.

For these same reasons, WINWIN -which is currently at the yard- along with most of the boats that participated in the twentieth edition of the Superyacht Cup Palma, have also chosen these facilities of international recognition. Specifically, 86% of participants in this prestigious regatta chose STP Shipyard Palma to carry out their refit, maintenance works as well as final adjustments prior to the competition.
