The Balearic nautical industry, mainly based in the technical area included by STP Shipyard Palma and Astilleros de Mallorca, was the object of the institutional visit that Juan Pedro Yllanes, Vice President of the Government and Minister of Energy Transition and Productive Sectors together with Toni Morro, General Director of Industrial Policy and Mariona Luis Tomás, Director of the IDI (Institute of Business Innovation), accompanied by José María Sans, Director of the Palma Boat Show and representatives of the Balearic Yacht Destination Association, promoter of the visit.

Senior positions of STP Shipyard Palma made a tour with the Authorities for the facilities that are currently at full capacity, to show the daily life of this technical area that houses the more than 500 companies that operate providing direct employment to almost 3,000 people and generating a turnover of 561 million euros, which translates into the consequent economic impact on the Balearic society, the main engine of industrial activity.

During the tour throughout the facilities, the Conseller and his team were very interested in knowing on-site the operation of the shipyard, almost unknown to the general public. And the board of senior positions of STP showed the different activities and areas dedicated to the repair and maintenance of yachts, as well as explained the measures of environmental care, and health and safety prevention measures that are taken daily to make this shipyard a reference to an international level in every way. Later on, the Institutional visit moved to Astilleros de Mallorca for the same purpose.
